Our guild was founded by Mary Isbell. Mary recognized a need for a day time guild in the southern part of Greenville County. In 2007 the first meeting was held. Over 10 years later, our guild is thriving! This is due to the dedication of the members and the wonderful programs and speakers we have had.

Our mission statement reads in part "encourage interest in and appreciation for the art of quilt making via educating guild members and/or others."

We honor Mary with the annual Mary Isbell Giving Thimble Award. The award is given to a member who has been nominated  and then is voted to receive the award by members of the guild.

Criteria for the nomination include "the member who  best exemplifies the spirit of giving and who carries out the mission of the
Busy Bees Quilt Guild.

Past winners of the Mary Isbell award include: 2013 - Debbie Burnette, 2014 - Barbara Lusk, 2015 - Linda Tripp, 2016 - Maxine Ensor, 2017 - Marilyn Cooper and 2018 - Linda Harkins.
